Fill in the blanks are the most common questions in IELTS listening test. These questions are sometimes in general form or can be found in other forms like diagram labelling, table and flowchart. One has to listen the audio carefully before filling any answer. Also the most important thing here is grammar and spelling which ensures the correctness of your answers.

Step-1 Understand the context of information
Try to convert the statement into a question as then it will be clear that what the statement is trying to convey. Also if there is a diagram or a flowchart, try to understand it by following the pattern and information. This will give you an idea that what is given in the question.
Step -2 Underline
Underline the noun, verb, subject, object and the extreme words to get a better idea of an answer while listening to the audio recording in IELTS listening test. Because subject verb agreement is important in order to make the answer grammatically accurate.
Step-3 Be attentive
While listening to the audio recording in the IELTS test one must have to be very attentive as sometimes the speaker do not follows the same order as the questions.
