A good number of people migrate to Canada every year to work there on PR visa through the express entry program. There are three immigration programs for that.
Canadian Experience class: This is for people with Canadian work experience and is applied by these people to gain PR status. It is applied by the international students who complete their education in Canada and then work there by getting work permit.
Eligibility:
- You must have the Canadian skilled work experience for at least one year in Canada working full time and getting paid for that or a part time work experience which is equivalent to the full-time employment within 3 years before you apply for this.
- This experience should have been gained while working on a temporary resident status which means you complete your college program and then apply for the work permit and work as per that.
- You are required to provide the evidence that you have fulfilled all your duties listed under the National Occupational Classification well while you were employed. Your experienced must be acquired in any one of the TEER 0-3 categories of NOC which means you have worked in:
- TEER 0: Management occupations like Advertising, marketing and public relations managers or financial managers
- TEER 1: Occupations that usually require a university degree like Software engineers or financial advisor
- TEER 2: Occupations that usually require a college diploma and an apprenticeship training for 2 + years or supervisory positions like Medical lab technicians or computer technicians
- TEER 3: Occupations that usually require a college diploma and an apprenticeship training for less than 2 years or 6+ months’ on job training like bakers or dental assistant
- Language Proficiency Test Score is a must to prove that you have the required English language skills to work in Canada. This includes all the language skills like Reading, Listening, Writing & Speaking.
- Educational qualification proof is not mandatory here but they can help to increase your points so you can use them for that.
- You must be admissible in Canada which takes care of certain factors like there should not be any criminal case against you or you are not a threat to the people of Canada. It also considers the medical conditions and some others criteria.
- You should be able to tell the place where you are planning to live.
Federal skilled worker program: This program is for the skilled workers who have foreign experience, like experience gained in the home country in the respective field.
Eligibility:
- You need to have proof of language proficiency including all the skills mentioned above.
- Also, educational qualifications’ evidence is a must in the category to prove that you have relevant knowledge.
- It is necessary that you have the respective experience in the field gained in the past 10 years working either full-time or part-time paid work. The experience must be in accordance with the TEER 1-3 of NOC written above. Any experience acquired while studying can be considered only if it was continuous and paid.
- The experience ought to be for 1 year continuous or for 1560 hours, it cannot be more than 30 hours per week working full-time or an equal time in part-time with multiple employments.
- You have to show the proof of funds to cover all the expenses of settling down and yours and your family’s needs.
- You must be admissible and should mention a place to live.
Federal skilled trades program: This program is for people qualified in a skilled trade like technician in any field, chef, baker etcetera.
Eligibility:
- For this program you need to have at least 2 years’ experience in the skilled trade mentioned under NOC. You must have fulfilled all your duties well.
- You are required to have a certificate of qualification from the province or territory that you get after the assessment by the respective authorities or a valid job offer for at least 1 year.
- The educational qualifications and language proficiency proofs are also needed apart from the information about the place to live, proof of funds and admissibility.
There are points given for different criteria like age, qualification experience and so on for the express entry. You are scored out of 100 and a minimum 67 is needed to be eligible but it is always dependent on the number of points gained. Based on this you are accepted for the express entry and given PR visa to Canada.
