How Mechatronics study could prove to be beneficial for students

Mechatronics is a multidisciplinary field that combines various fields of engineering, covering different technical aspects therefore the scope in Mechatronics is very high in India. Under the   “make in India” program, Indian government aims to create 100 million jobs in manufacturing sector and as industrial machinery and products are all integration of mechanical , electronics and electrical components therefore the role of Mechtronics and its requirements are very high in Indian industries.  Study of Mechatronics provides opportunities in multiple sectors including mechanics, electrical industry, electronics sector, automation, robotics, AI, industrial software and languages, Quality control field, production plants etc. Apart from this, there is also a huge requirement of experienced engineers of this field in education sector as well as in government institutions of home country. After completing Mechatronic, students have multiple career options which they could avail. Through the study aspirants not only get theoretical experience but also get practical exposure. The industrial work experience along with Mechatronics certification will ensure employment in Indian industries.

By choosing Conestoga College (Guelph campus) according to the profile and this choice is perfect to continue with education and work experience. The programs at Conestoga College are industries relevant as the courses are designed, considering the need of employers. This program, Applied Manufacturing Management- Mechatronics in Conestoga college fulfils education needs perfectly and through this course students could avail maximum opportunities which are

My opted program is a full-time two year program. This program is an integration of electrical, electronics, mechanical and computer streams that would provide me with the knowledge & skills related to latest technology, new fashioned machinery, industrial programming languages and software, designing and control applications used in industries which are required for my career growth. This program makes engineers capable to work, maintain and manage high technology engineering systems, automated machines and robotic-arms; computer aided controlling and testing of drives, designing new mechanical and electronic engineering components, computer numerical control programming, etc. In this two year program students would get an understanding of following subjects:

Year 1: Mechatronics 1 and 2 ,current trends in mechatronics, Geometrical dimensioning and tolerance, introduction to robotics, mechanical drawing, principles of metrology for quality management, solid modelling for manufacturing, quality strategy and value creation , engineering economics, designing Jigs and fixtures, fundamentals of programming.

Year 2: Mechatronics 3, Lean six sigma, prototyping and 3D printing, Industrial and occupational health and safety, Capstone, networking planning and implementation, human resources for manufacturing management, introduction to project management for manufacturing, team dynamics and employee engagement in industry.

Future Scope & Reason

Mechatronics is a multidisciplinary field that combines various fields of engineering, covering different technical aspects therefore the scope in mechatronics is very high in India. Under the name of Mechatronics many companies have opportunities in different sectors and students can easily get high paid job after the studies because of the demand in market. Study of mechatronics provides opportunities in multiple sectors including mechanics, electrical industry, electronics sector, automation, robotics, AI, industrial software and languages, Quality control field, production plants etc. Apart from this, there is also a huge requirement of experienced engineers of this field in education sector as well as in government institutions of my home country. After completing my studies in Canada which is highly valuable in my home country, I will be capable to find employment as a Mechatronics engineer/technologist, industrial automation engineer, mechanical design engineer, control system design/ troubleshooting engineer, technical production engineer, process engineer specialist, industrial language programmer, industrial software engineer , manufacturing process manager  etc. My industrial work experience along with Mechatronics certification will ensure me employment in Indian industries.
