Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, popularly known as STEM are the sectors that are extremely prestigious and have mostly been opted by men for long. However, in this modern time, a lot of women are choosing them as their field of study and career but it is still a long way to reach the same figure as men due to various reasons. Most of the universities in the UK are determined to increase female participation in these fields and are supporting in every possible way to achieve this goal. The results are promising as at present there is 43% of women in STEM work in various capacities. Here are some of the universities that are ranked the best and are ahead of others in aspects of the UK.

University of Portsmouth

This university is perfect for modern-day women who want to pursue education in STEM, it is considered one of the top 20 places that extend great support for female students to fulfill their dream of becoming a researcher or engineer. It offers various courses in engineering subjects like Mechanical, Electronic, civil, and Energy. The University of Stirling teaches computer programming and software engineering to students who are enrolled in the Computer Science & Software Engineering Program. They teach the theory in detail along with the practical application so that the students know how to use their knowledge and skills to achieve greater heights in their careers. They have the Women in STEM Society which has been founded to extend support and assistance to women enrolled there. It motivates them to take up projects and accomplish the difficult tasks that were once believed to be men’s cup of tea. They do have a Business & Computer Science course which is not available everywhere but it is quite useful as a good sense of business along with the skills takes one to greater heights.
